The 2017-18 academic year has drawn to a close and the nervous wait for GCSE results is over. Students and teachers have worked exceptionally hard, and we are delighted to announce this year’s results, with 84% of GCSEs grade 9 to 4. Fiona Pocock, Principal at Bosworth states “As a non-selective school working with non-native speakers of English alongside our local students, we feel very proud of our GCSE results which a well-above the national average. We’re looking forward to working with our GCSE students as they progress to A-level or our Level 3 BTEC Business course. That one or two of them have already had a taste of success at AS is most encouraging. Several of our GCSE students were doing nicely with GCSE study and felt ready for a challenge so took on an AS subject alongside GCSE. We try hard to have a very flexible timetable that can accommodate any combination of subjects and levels so that such academic curiosity can be satisfied.”
We offer huge congratulations to all of our students.
Grisha – the greatest GCSE guy!
Grisha Klymenko, from Ukraine, joined Bosworth Independent College on Barrack Road in Northampton (www.bosworthcollege.com) in September 2016 to study GCSEs, in spite of English being his second language. Just one week after his 17th birthday, Grisha has plenty to celebrate. He has attained GCSE grade 8 in Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science, along with grade 7 in Physics and A in IGCSE English Language and B in Business Studies. These GCSE grades come hot on the heels of an A in Advanced Subsidiary Mathematics and another A in Advanced Subsidiary Psychology which he chose to study alongside GCSE “for fun” to keep his active brain occupied. Grisha will progress to study A-levels at Bosworth Independent College where over 30% of this year’s candidates were awarded A* or A grades in at least 3 A-level subjects!
